If we have learned anything about ourselves in the journey of starting  a business, its that we love talking weddings! Recently we met another small business owner who shares our passion. Erika Walker, half of 2ee’s Photography graced the Soiree office to chat with us about her and her father Eric’s family photography business. It is clear from spending time with Erika that both of the 2ee’s love what they do, and love weddings just as much as we do!

How long have you been doing photography and how did you get started?

We have been taking pictures professionally as a team for about three years. I have been taking pictures for about three years, my dad has been taking pictures for much longer, since he was in high school! He’s got more of a traditional story. I went to school for marketing, and kind of fell in love with it through him.

What is your favorite thing about wedding photography?

I like telling the story. I feel like we are story tellers and our camera is the medium for the wedding day. That’s why we like to do engagement sessions as well because we can really get to know our couples. I personally tend to get really choked up at our weddings because I love our brides so much!

Do you have a specific style of photography?

That’s hard to say because there are 2 of us! But I think that is one of our strengths. My dad is kind of the lighting guy, and gets the bold shots. I tend to get more invested in my brides and get more of the emotional, candid, evocative shots.  Our style is pretty clean, we try to shoot in a way that when you look at it years later it will not look dated.

What are your packages like?

Our packages start at $1600 and all of our packages include both of us. I stay with the girls he goes with the guys, so we can get the whole story of the day! Each of our packages also includes a complete disk of images that we took throughout the day. We feel like that is very important to clients. Our packages start at 8 hours of coverage and go up from there. We do allow clients to mix and match our services to create the right packages for them.

How soon in advance do you recommend clients book you?

Typically I would say anywhere from a year to 6 months before the event.

What do you like about living in the Inland Northwest?

I like the variety. We have 4 seasons, you can be on a mountain in an hour or Seattle is just 4 hours away, but I dont have to sit in an hour of traffic each day.

What is your favorite dessert, and where is the best place to get it in Spokane?

Red Velvet ANYTHING! I had a red velvet cupcake from Sweet Frostings that was pretty amazing!
